The South Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) continues to assist residents affected by drought amid the prolonged dry season in Jakarta, including those in Pondok Pinang Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama Sub-district.

Pondok Pinang Urban Village Head Dina Roslina said 99 families, or 279 residents, in Pondok Pinang have been affected by the drought.

"BPBD provided clean water to residents in four RTs in RW 08 over a two-day period," she explained on Monday (9/21).

Dina thanked BPBD and PAM Jaya for providing clean water to residents of RW 08, one of the areas most affected by the dry season, where household water flow has dropped significantly.

"Thankfully, the distribution went well over the two days. Some residents filled their water tanks directly, while others used buckets or gallons. Everyone who needed the water benefited from the assistance," she said.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta BPBD Platoon Commander Muhammad Nur explained that the water distribution was carried out based on a request from the urban village administration, which had first collected data on residents affected by the drought.

"We have distributed a total of 10,000 liters of water in Pondok Pinang. If there are still requests, we are ready to distribute more," he added.

Nur urged residents to use clean water wisely during the dry season. Residents experiencing prolonged drought conditions were also asked to immediately report them to the local government.

"We will do our best to serve residents. We also ask anyone who sees other residents experiencing water shortages to help them immediately and support one another," he said.
