The Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Agency (KPKP) has designed the Cengkareng Fishery Product Promotion (TPHP) on Jalan Cendrawasih I, West Cengkareng Urban Village, West Jakarta, to become a tourist destination.

To realize this plan, the agency will revitalize the Cengkareng TPHP building and area by involving investors or third parties.

Head of Jakarta KPKP Agency, Hasudungan Sidabalok said there are 39 ornamental fish businesses actively selling there. Currently, the situation is less crowded than before, as many consumers are purchasing online.

"We have communicated with the West Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency and the West Jakarta City Government so that we can work together to develop this area. Its economic and tourism potential is enormous," he said.

As an initial step, his party will encourage the ranks of the West Jakarta KPKP to carry out various activities such as sterilization, Safari Gemar Ikan and other activities at the Cengkareng TPHP.

"It is hoped that this can help promote and introduce TPHP Cengkareng to the wider community," he added.

According to him, his side also plans to conduct an inventory of the building to determine its condition. The Cengkareng TPHP building has not undergone any renovations since its construction in 2011.

"We hope that investors will be interested in collaborating to promote, build, and develop the Cengkareng TPHP. This is still in the early stages, but hopefully, the scheme will be something like this," he hoped.

The Chairman of the Cengkareng Ornamental Fish Traders Association (APIC), Brian Gautama, added that the TPHP building was built in 2010 and occupied in 2011. During that time, Brian said, the building had never been maintained so that several parts of the roof, canteen and prayer room were damaged.

"We ask the relevant parties to pay more attention to the suitability of the building, facilities and infrastructure so that this place can be easily accessed by the public," he said.
