A total of 561 students at SDN Cipinang Besar Utara 05 and 08, Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, participated in the Eating Fish (Gemarikan) campaign.

East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin said Gemarikan is an annual routine activity that needs to be continuously held to educate children from school age so that they get used to consuming fish.

"We continue to educate children so they like eating fish," he said.

Head of Jakarta KPKP Agency, Hasudungan Sidabalok explained Gemarikan is part of a campaign to increase students' interest in consuming fish.

The program is expected to change the habits of children who previously did not like fish to become more interested in consuming it.

"Fish does not have to be consumed whole, but can be processed into various fish-based food products," he explained.

Head of East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency, Taufik Yulianto stated the campaign was attended by 282 students from SDN Cipinang Besar Utara 05 and 279 students from SDN Cipinang Besar Utara 08.

"The activities are also packaged with various forms of entertainment that still contain educational messages," he stated.
