Personnel from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) managed to extinguish a fire at a two-story house on Jalan Kenanga, RT 01/01, Bambu Apus Urban Village, Cipayung District.

Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Abdul Wahid said the fire occurred at 12 PM when the house was empty because the homeowner had gone to work.

"We deployed six fire engines with a strength of 30 personnel," he said, Tuesday (9/15).

Wahid explained that the extinguishing process began at 12:11 PM. The handling was declared complete at 12:45 PM.

"The fire is believed to have been triggered by a short circuit in an electric mosquito coil. There were no fatalities or injuries," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Bambu Apus Urban Village, Marissya Ariestiary appreciated the alertness of the Gulkamat personnel who immediately arrived at the location and carried out handling.

"We express our gratitude and appreciation because the personnel were very responsive so that the fire did not spread to other buildings," she admitted.
