LRT Jakarta, a subsidiary of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), has commenced trial operations for its Kelapa Gading–Manggarai extension.

Members of the public can sign up for test rides through the LRTJ Apps, official QR codes, or at kpg-mgi.lrtjakarta.co.id.

Registration began September 1 PM at 5 PM accepting bookings from 24 hours up to two hours before departure.

Trial trains serve round trips between Kelapa Gading and Manggarai stations, capped at 40 km/h with a limit of 100 passengers per run.

Jakpro President Director Iwan Takwin described the trial phase as a key step toward full commercial operations.

The trial introduces modern rail transit to commuters while giving the public and key stakeholders an early look at the Kelapa Gading–Manggarai service.

Feedback gathered during the test rides will help operators refine operations ahead of the official launch.

"The trials ensure complete system readiness—spanning staff, processes, and infrastructure—while inviting valuable passenger feedback," Iwan expressed, Monday (9/14).

He went on to say that the trial helps foster public appreciation for Jakarta's expanding, integrated transit system.

The trial proceeds in phased stages to fine-tune train schedules, capacity levels, and headway frequencies.

"System readiness, facilities, and staff undergo continuous monitoring to guarantee safe and dependable operations at full launch," he continued.

Jakpro is simultaneously upgrading station infrastructure, improving pedestrian access, station hygiene, underpass maintenance, and final architectural details.

"These refinements guarantee our facilities support a safe, comfortable, and fully inclusive commuter experience," he added.

Notably, the 12.2-kilometer line serves 11 stations from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai, cutting travel time across North, East, and South Jakarta to just 28 minutes.

"The line offers a seamless transit alternative to make urban mobility more efficient and accessible for everyone," he stated.
