Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has urged residents in the 15 eligible categories for free public transportation to be more proactive in applying for their Free Service Cards.

His statement comes as a direct response to a wave of complaints on social media regarding the sluggish card issuance process.

I encourage anyone among the 15 eligible groups to take a proactive approach

"I encourage anyone among the 15 eligible groups to take a proactive approach to ensure they receive their cards promptly," Pram stated, during a visit to Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (9/9).

He acknowledged that delays are inevitable if residents rely solely on online applications and wait for the physical cards to be delivered.

"It is true that simply submitting an application and waiting can lead to holdups; I have personally received reports confirming this issue," he explained.

The Jakarta government is now offering direct, on-site processing to help residents bypass wait times. This policy ensures that eligible residents can enjoy free transit with minimal hassle.

"Transjakarta has counters near the Mandarin Hotel where you can get your card on the spot, provided your documents are ready. We’ve made sure there are plenty of ways to make this easier for everyone," he stated.
