The Jakarta Council Budget Committee (Banggar) and the Jakarta Provincial Government's Regional Budget Team (TAPD) have agreed on the revised General Budget Policy and Temporary Budget Ceiling Priorities (KUA-PPAS) for Jakarta's 2026 budget at Rp79.596 trillion.

Jakarta Council Chair Suhud Alynudin said the agreement was reached after Banggar and the Jakarta Provincial Government completed discussions on the revised KUA-PPAS for the 2026 budget on Friday (8/21).

"Alhamdulillah, today, Friday, August 21, 2026, the Jakarta Council Budget Committee has completed discussions on the KUA-PPAS," Suhud said.

Suhud noted that the revised KUA-PPAS figure is lower than the original 2026 Jakarta budget of Rp81.3 trillion. Following the adjustment, the budget framework for 2026 stands at Rp79.59 trillion.

Despite the lower budget ceiling, the Jakarta Council and Provincial Government remain committed to meeting residents' basic needs. Education, healthcare, and social assistance remain priorities in preparing the revised budget.

"We remain committed to protecting the basic needs of Jakarta residents, particularly in education, healthcare, and social assistance," he asserted.

Suhud said the council would also ensure that mandatory spending requirements remain a priority despite budget constraints.

"Despite the budget shortfall, we are working to ensure that Jakarta residents' basic needs continue to be met," he emphasized.

Suhud expressed hope that the agreement on the revised KUA-PPAS would help maintain basic public services and residents' welfare as the 2026 budget is adjusted.

"This will ensure that residents' needs continue to be met, including their needs for education, welfare, and healthcare," he said.
