The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) is hosting the 2026 Creative Economy Professional Training and Certification program, specifically focused on the Video Editor Scheme.

This strategic initiative aims to strengthen digital creative human resources, enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry, and support Jakarta’s transformation into an inclusive and equitable global city.

Jakarta government is committed to nurturing professional creative talent

Facilitated by the Center for Tourism and Creative Economy Professional Training (P4Ekraf), the program is attended by 40 selected participants who successfully passed the administrative screening and pre-test phases. The intensive training sessions are held from August 19 to 21, 2026, followed by the BNSP (National Professional Certification Agency) Competency Test on August 26, 2026, at Orchardz Hotel Industri, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head, Andhika Permata noted that the rapid evolution of information technology has positioned video content as the premier medium for communication and promotion, essential for building the brand image of tourism destinations and creative products.

He added that as the digital ecosystem thrives, there is a surging demand for skilled Video Editors who possess both technical proficiency and high-level creativity.

"Through this training, the Jakarta government is committed to nurturing professional creative talent that is highly competitive and ready to meet both national and international industry standards," he expressed, Friday (8/21).

According to Andhika, this talent development initiative is designed to mirror Jakarta’s commitment to inclusivity. The training curriculum transcends technical skills by teaching editors how to produce inclusive content.

"We want to ensure that digital content can be accessed by everyone, without exception—including individuals with disabilities," he added.

Tourism and Creative Economy Professional Training (P4Ekraf) Center Head, Endrati Fariani explained that the program is built upon rigorous work competency standards and direct collaboration with creative industry stakeholders.

The training adheres to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) for Video Editing. To guarantee the highest quality for its graduates, P4Ekraf is partnering with the Indonesian Film Editor (INAFED) Association and LSP Entrepreneur Digital Indonesia.

"Participants are not only equipped with theory and modern video editing practicals but are also directly assessed through BNSP certification. This ensures they hold an official license that is fully recognized by the industry," she explained.

The call for applications drew immense enthusiasm from Jakarta’s youth between July 13 and August 12, 2026. Out of the many who applied through the @disparekrafdki and @p4ekraf_dki social media channels, only those meeting the highest standards were selected.

These elite participants are all Jakarta residents with at least one year of editing experience and a dedicated commitment to seeing the entire journey through to professional certification.
