East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin, paid his respects and handed over bereavement assistance to the family of Hamam Shidqi Hammammut (17), a student from MAN 6 who passed away in a traffic accident on Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati.
Munjirin visited the victim’s residence behind PON Hospital in Cawang, Kramat Jati on Monday night (8/17), to offer his deepest condolences to Eri Yusnivi (49), the victim's father.

"We express our profound condolences on the passing of young Hamam in this tragic accident. We have provided aid to help ease the burden of the needs for the three-day prayer services (tahlilan)," he expressed, Tuesday (8/18).
Munjirin and his entourage then joined the congregation at Anwar Huda Mosque to offer prayers for the deceased. He further noted that the funeral arrangements had been facilitated by the East Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency, as well as the East Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency.
"The deceased was laid to rest at a waqf plot in the Cawang Public Cemetery, located behind the Christian University of Indonesia (UKI)," he explained.
According to him, the family has accepted the incident as a tragedy and has come to terms with the loss of their loved one.
"The family has also stated that they won't pursue legal action against either the truck driver or the Environmental Agency," he explained.
Meanwhile, the victim's father, Eri, recounted that Hamam passed away after being involved in an accident at around 6:15 AM on Jalan Raya Bogor, specifically near the Polri Kramat Jati Hospital intersection.
"At that time, our son was on his way to MAN 6 in Dukuh to attend the flag-raising ceremony for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day," he admitted.
According to him, based on available reports, his son’s motorcycle clipped another motorcycle, causing him to fall. Simultaneously, a dump truck with license plate B 9728 TOQ was passing by.
"My son passed away at the scene and was immediately taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital," he disclosed.
Eri expressed his appreciation for the visit from Munjirin and the East Jakarta City administration officials, who provided both moral and material support to his family.
"We would like to thank the Mayor and his staff for coming to our home to provide assistance and support," he concluded.
