A joint team of 120 personnel carried out a mud-cleaning and community cleanup operation to clean drainage channels along Jalan Raya Cilangkap Baru, RW 01, Cilangkap Urban Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta. This activity was conducted to prevent water pooling during the rainy season.

Head of Cipayung District, Diman said the cleaning of the approximately 2.5-kilometer-long waterway was led by the East Jakarta Assistant for Economy and Development, Fauzi.

"This location became the focus of a community cleanup because silt accumulation had reached 20 to 30 centimeters, thereby reducing the channel's capacity," he said, Friday (8/14).

He explained that team also addressed tree roots and large trees that were obstructing the drainage system.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Economy and Development Section for Cilangkap Urban Village, Fachrul Azis, explained the joint personnel involved in this community cleanup operation comprise representatives from the urban village and district levels, including PPSU workers, the "Blue Squad" and "Green Squad" teams, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers, and the Sub-agency for the Environment.

He urged the public to work together to keep the drains clean, particularly by refraining from littering.

"Let us work together to keep the channels clean and prevent blockages or siltation," he stated.
