Bank Jakarta is deepening its community engagement through a strategic partnership with Persija Jakarta. This collaboration represents more than just a sponsorship deal or logo visibility on the jersey.

Bank Jakarta President Director, Agus H. Widodo noted that the alliance aims to unite two significant ecosystems evolving with the city: banking and football.

Our aim is to merge two of the city's pillars: Persija

"Persija wears Jakarta on their jersey. Bank Jakarta holds the name of Jakarta in our very identity. We have grown together in this city and represent the same name: Jakarta," he expressed, Monday (8/10).

He emphasized that Persija’s massive and passionate supporter base, The Jakmania, offers significant potential for programs that deliver real value to the public and the Persija community.

Agus characterized this partnership as an evolution from traditional sponsorship to a meaningful collaboration, transitioning from brand exposure to providing an experience the public can truly feel.

"This goes beyond the logo on the jersey. Our aim is to merge two of the city's pillars: Persija, fueled by community football and immense passion, and Bank Jakarta, supported by financial innovation, technology, and the urban infrastructure we provide," he explained.

He went to say that the strategic alignment with Persija is seen as more timely than ever as the 'Macan Kemayoran' kicks off the new season with a revamped roster and the leadership of Coach Shin Tae-yong. Under his guidance, the team is anticipated to adopt a more aggressive and competitive stance.

He believes that Persija’s rejuvenation parallels Bank Jakarta’s transformation. A playing style characterized by speed, high mobility, bold opportunity-taking, and teamwork reflects the corporate culture Bank Jakarta is currently building.

"Coach Shin Tae-yong’s philosophy of fast, attacking football and team-wide mobility resonates with us. It reflects our own aims at Bank Jakarta: to be faster, more agile, and more proactive in capturing opportunities. Ultimately, we want our entire organization to function as one cohesive team," he added.

He sees this shared vision reflected in the fresh new look of both organizations that represent the city.

"New coach, new players, new energy. At Bank Jakarta, we also have a new website, a new experience, and a new spirit. We are all united by one purpose: bringing pride to Jakarta," he remarked.

Agus emphasized that Bank Jakarta’s transformation and Persija’s rebranding go hand-in-hand. This synergy is expected to deliver more for Jakartans, particularly as the city nears the historic milestone of its 500th year.

"My hope is that this season, both Persija and Bank Jakarta will level up together," he hoped.

He highlighted a goal that resonates with every Persija fan—bringing the championship home to Jakarta. He noted that a victory coinciding with the city’s 500th anniversary would carry a very special meaning for its residents.

"There’s a target that might not be formally stated in the contract, but I know it’s what every Jakmania wants: Persija must win. With Jakarta heading toward its landmark five-century anniversary, a trophy would be the ultimate tribute to the city," he stated.
