The Jakarta Transportation Agency is conducting a trial closure of a U-turn on Jalan RS Fatmawati Raya, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

The measure is taken to anticipate congestion and facilitate the flow of traffic in the area.

Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, Bernad Octavianus said the U-turn being closed is located in front of Pizza Hut Delivery (PHD) on Jalan Rumah Sakit Fatmawati Raya. The trial closure will last for one week, from August 6 to August 13, 2026.

"During the trial period for closing the U-turn in front of PHD, we are implementing traffic management measures to alleviate vehicle conflict points that frequently cause congestion," he said, Thursday (8/6).

He added that with this closure, traffic has been diverted to several surrounding roads, particularly for vehicles traveling from Jalan Cereme towards Jalan Taman Pendidikan.

"Motorists who could previously make a U-turn (North-to-North) at the U-turn in front of PHD are now diverted to the U-turn in front of Mie Gacoan, covering a distance of approximately 400 meters," he added.

Next, Bernad continued, vehicles traveling from the direction of Jalan Taman Pendidikan toward Jalan Cereme are being diverted to make a U-turn in front of the Shell gas station, located approximately one kilometer away.

Bernad urges road users to adapt to the new traffic arrangements, continue to obey traffic signs and the directions of officers on, and always prioritize safety while driving.

"This morning, we have 17 personnel on standby at the site to help direct motorists during the trial period," he admitted.
