Activities under the TAMPAN program, an initiative of Tambora District promoting order, safety, self-reliance, care, beauty, and comfort, targeted the residential area of RW 04 in Duri Selatan Urban Village, Wednesday (8/5).

Raise public awareness

In addition to taking action against street vendors occupying sidewalks and drainage channels, the operation led by Tambora District Vice Head Ian Imanuddin also intensified public education on waste sorting at residents' homes.

He explained that the TAMPAN program aims to enforce various local regulations, ranging from public order to waste sorting and management at the source.

"It involves not only enforcement and regulatory measures but also education to raise public awareness regarding waste sorting," he explained.

He also reminded residents that, starting August 1, 2026, they will no longer be able to dispose of organic and inorganic waste at the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Treatment Facility (TPST).

According to him, 170 out of 275 households or approximately 61.82 percent in RW 04, Duri Selatan Urban Village, are already sorting their waste at home.

He added that residents have also been processing their organic waste into compost and eco-enzymes, as well as cultivating maggots.

"I hope this achievement further motivates efforts to ensure that every household sorts its waste," he hoped.
