Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung welcomed the city's 5.52 percent year-on-year (yoy) economic growth in the second quarter of 2026.
Jakarta also made a significant contribution to the national economy
According to him, the figure reflects the Jakarta Provincial Government's strong performance, as it exceeded the national economic growth rate of 5.29 percent.
Jakarta also made a significant contribution to the national economy, generating Rp1,050.02 trillion of the country's total Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Rp6,552 trillion.
"What stands out most is Jakarta's contribution to the GRDP. The city contributed Rp1,050.02 trillion out of the total Rp6,552 trillion," Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (8/5).
According to Pramono, the result reflects Jakarta's resilient economic growth despite geopolitical pressures, including global conflicts affecting global economic stability.
To maintain the momentum, the Jakarta Provincial Government remains committed to preserving economic stability and fostering a conducive business climate.
Pramono expressed optimism that maintaining a safe and comfortable city would help sustain both Jakarta's and the national economy.
"I am fully committed to keeping Jakarta safe and comfortable, and I am optimistic about what we have built together. Hopefully, both the national economy and Jakarta's economy can maintain this growth momentum," he emphasized.
