Joint personnel conducted handling following a fire at an empty plot of land on Jalan Penggilingan Baru 1, RT 13/03, Dukuh Urban Village, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, on Monday (8/3). One fire engine and one backhoe were deployed to the scene.
Vice of Kramat Jati District, Zaini Miftah said his party cooperated with the Fire and Rescue Sub-agency, Water Resources (SDA), Environment, and urban village and district officials.
No fire or smoke visible
"Conditions at the location are now conducive, with no fire or smoke visible. Joint officers are still on standby at the location," he said.
He added the trash and debris haven't been cleared yet. However, if assistance with transportation is needed, the East Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency will certainly pick it up.
"We are still on standby," he added.
Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency, Muchtar Zakaria stated for further handling, one fire engine and 10 personnel were deployed to the location. A backhoe belonging to the Water Resources Sub-agency was also on standby to break down the pile of trash.
According to him, his party is also still on standby at the location because the weather is quite hot and they are worried that another fire will occur.
His team extinguished the fire on Saturday morning (8/1). However, after the fire, his team continued to clear the pile of trash. As of 2:30 AM Monday (8/3), officers had only just finished spraying the area due to the smoke still billowing.
"They continued this morning," he stated.
