The Jakarta Provincial Government has officially set the fare for the Transbandara service connecting Blok M and Soekarno-Hatta Airport at Rp15,000 under Governor Decree No. 685 of 2026.

The fare is part of our social protection policy

The decree was signed on Friday (7/31) and will take effect on September 1, 2026, following a one-month transition period.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Budi Awaluddin said the fare was determined following discussions involving multiple stakeholders. In addition to studies conducted by Polar UI and Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas), the government also considered input from the public, academics, Transjakarta, and the Jakarta City Transportation Council before the governor approved the Rp15,000 fare.

"This is not a fare increase, but the establishment of an official fare. The service had previously been operating under a trial period, so no official fare had been set. The fare is part of our social protection policy," Budi noted on Friday (7/31).

He said the one-month transition period will be used to inform the public about the new policy before it is fully implemented.

"Meanwhile, the fare for the Kalideres–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route remains unchanged and will be determined under a separate policy at a later date," he added.

Transjakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza said the issuance of the governor's decree also simplifies the service's name. Under the new regulation, the designation SH-2 will no longer be used and has been officially replaced with Transbandara Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta Airport, as stated in the decree.

"As mentioned earlier, the previous fare was only a trial fare. Today's decision is not a fare increase but the establishment of the official fare for the Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route. Meanwhile, the Kalideres–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route will continue using its current fare because it is not yet covered by the governor's decree," he explained.

According to him, Transjakarta will also improve service quality alongside the implementation of the new fare. Transjakarta will also upgrade facilities at the Blok M departure area and provide real-time bus arrival information through the TJ:Transjakarta app.

"We will also install Passenger Information Systems (PIS) at Blok M and Soekarno-Hatta Airport, while maintaining headways of around 15 minutes during peak hours and 20 minutes during off-peak hours," he said.
