To support the temporary facility, the Jakarta Public Works Agency improved pedestrian access by installing paving blocks on the road median to connect the crossing on both sides of the road, allowing pedestrians to use the facility more safely and conveniently.

"The pelican crossing on Jalan Kapten Tendean, South Jakarta, falls under the authority of the Jakarta Transportation Agency. To support the facility, the Jakarta Public Works Agency has improved pedestrian access along the road median," said Siti Dinarwenny, Head of the Data and Information Center at the Jakarta Public Works Agency, on Thursday (7/30).

She explained that the work was carried out following joint coordination and field inspections with the Jakarta Transportation Agency and other related agencies as part of inter-agency collaboration to improve safety and convenience for both pedestrians and motorists.

"The crossing has been provided as a temporary facility following the demolition of the Tendean Pedestrian Bridge until a replacement bridge is constructed," she said.
