The Bank Indonesia (BI) Jakarta Representative Office officially launched the TRUST Jakarta (Transparency, Surveillance, Risk Management for Secure Transactions) program during the Jakarta Secure Payment System Summit (JSPay Summit) on Wednesday (7/29).

a more adaptive, collaborative, and integrated supervisory approach

TRUST is designed to strengthen the supervision and licensing of Payment Service Providers (PJPs), Non-Bank Foreign Banknote Exchange Operators (PUKA BB), and Licensed Foreign Exchange Businesses (BB UKA) through a more adaptive, collaborative, and integrated supervisory approach across the Jakarta Representative Office's jurisdiction.

The program is built on three main pillars. The first is the Jakarta Secure Payment Summit (JSPay Summit), which serves as a platform for industry capacity building and policy dialogue between regulators and stakeholders.

The second pillar is the Strategic Payment and Resilient Knowledge Forum (SPARK), aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and synergy, while the third, Payment System on Your View (POV), focuses on improving industry capacity to become more resilient, compliant, and adaptable to technological developments.

The three pillars are designed to strengthen governance, risk management, cybersecurity, and the implementation of Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism Financing, and Counter-Proliferation Financing (AML/CFT/CPF) measures, in line with the Indonesian Payment System Blueprint (BSPI) 2030 and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards.

According to BI Jakarta Representative Office Deputy Head Reny Julianie F, TRUST Jakarta reflects the central bank's commitment to more adaptive payment system oversight as the industry evolves.

"Every secure payment system begins with trust. As the industry continues to evolve, effective oversight must be built on strong and sustainable collaboration. Through TRUST Jakarta, we are introducing a more responsive and reliable supervisory framework together with all industry players," she said.

Reny expressed hope that TRUST Jakarta would further strengthen collaboration among regulators, industry players, academics, and other stakeholders in building a healthy, secure, reliable, and competitive payment system ecosystem.

"Strengthening industry capacity, promoting good governance, and increasing public trust in digital payment services are expected to support the acceleration of Indonesia's digital economy while maintaining the long-term stability of the national payment system," she added.

As of July 2026, the BI Jakarta Representative Office supervised 33.83 percent of the country's Payment Service Providers, 30.55 percent of Non-Bank Foreign Banknote Exchange Operators, and 75 percent of Licensed Foreign Exchange Businesses.

The office's jurisdiction also accounted for 39.67 percent of national business activity in the payment system and foreign exchange industry, underscoring Jakarta's strategic role in maintaining the stability and public trust of Indonesia's payment system.
