Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung encouraged residents to make use of public spaces for exercise as part of efforts to lead healthier and more active lives.
The area has become much more comfortable for people to enjoy CFD
To promote healthier lifestyles, Pramono said the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to expand access to inclusive public spaces by regularly holding Car Free Day (CFD) along Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said in South Jakarta.
"This is the fourth CFD held here, and public enthusiasm has been very high. It reflects a growing interest in exercise among Jakarta residents," Pramono said while visiting the event with Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said on Sunday (7/26).
According to Pramono, improvements to public infrastructure, including upgraded sidewalks, have also made the Kuningan area more comfortable for residents to exercise.
"From end to end, the sidewalks are now much neater. I think the area has become much more comfortable for people to enjoy CFD," he said.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin praised the Jakarta Provincial Government for consistently providing a safe and comfortable space for residents to exercise through the regular Car Free Day program along Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said.
"The average life expectancy in Indonesia is currently 74 years. We hope people's health will continue to improve by encouraging active lifestyles and regular exercise so that life expectancy can exceed 80 years in the future," he noted.
