West Jakarta KPKP Sterilizes 200 Male Cats in Tambora

The West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency held a male cat sterilization program at the Tambora District Office on Wednesday (July 22). A total of 200 male cats were successfully sterilized during the program.

Head Section of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary of the Sub-agency, Tanti said the 200 sterilized cats were pets of residents and stray cats registered by the animal lovers community.

"This sterilization is to control the cat population, while improving animal welfare and anticipating the spread of rabies," she said.

Tanti added that prior to the event, registration was opened for participants through the West Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency's social media accounts. All applicants were required to have a Jakarta ID card.

"For further implementation and complete requirements, please monitor the IG account of the West Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency," she added.

Head of Tambora District, Pangestu Aji appreciated activities that facilitate his residents to undergo free sterilization.

"We must treat cats properly and keep them prosperous," he admitted.
