The Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) aims to complete the revitalization of the drainage channel on Jalan Kesehatan III, RW 06, Petojo Selatan, Gambir, by early September 2026.

Central Jakarta Drainage Maintenance Section Head, Citrin Indriati stated that 10 personnel have been deployed to normalize the 136-meter-long channel.

"The work has been underway since July 8. We are replacing the old drainage with U-ditch concrete blocks measuring 60x60x120 centimeters," she expressed, Wednesday (7/22).

According to her, it follows up on community requests submitted through the Community Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang) 2026. Residents had reported that the existing channel was narrow and silted with mud, causing water to overflow and flood the neighborhood during heavy rains.

"We hope this upgrade will optimize the channel’s capacity. We also urge residents not to cover the newly repaired drains so that maintenance and cleaning remain accessible," she added.

This work received appreciation from Rudi, one of the locals from Jalan Kesehatan III, RW 06, Petojo Selatan.

"Thank you for the fast response. This repair finally addresses the recurring floods we've been facing," he stated.
