The Mobile Animal Clinic program operated by the East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency has received positive feedback from the public. In its first week, the service served 93 residents, providing a total of 111 pets with health checks.

Head of the Sub-agency, Taufik Yulianto said of this number, 16 were dogs and 95 were cats.

"The first service took place on July 13-17, 2026 in Kelapa Dua Wetan, Pondok Bambu, and Penggilingan Urban Village," he said, Monday (7/20).

According to him, the mobile animal clinic is equipped with various facilities to support veterinary medical services, ranging from blood, urine, biochemistry, ultrasound (USG), microscope, anesthesia machine, to various other diagnostic equipment.

"Each mobile unit is operated by one veterinarian and one veterinary paramedic. Services are provided on a rotating basis at urban village offices, district offices, RPTRAs, and the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Seed Development and Plant Protection Center," he explained.

About 29 service locations have been prepared for the mobile animal clinic. This week, the service is scheduled to take place at the RPTRA Jati Bersinar on July 20.

"Then, for RPTRA Kebon Pala on July 21-22, and RPTRA Garuda Cilangkap on July 23-24, from 8.30 AM to 2.30 PM," he added.

Meanwhile, Head Section of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary of the Sub-agency, Theresia Ellita stated determination of service locations is carried out based on proposed areas which are then studied together with the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) using scientific methods.

"The results of this study produce a location ranking so that services can be implemented in rotation and reach more people," she stated.

Ellita explained that prioritization took into account several indicators, including population density, pet population, cat sterilization results, and animal vaccination coverage. The analysis was conducted through focus group discussions (FGDs) and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method.

In addition to providing services closer to the community, the rates are also relatively affordable. Animal health checks cost Rp 35,000, cat checks and treatments cost Rp 70,000, and dogs cost Rp 100,000.

Minor surgery costs Rp 175,000. Sterilization, which includes an examination, laboratory tests, and surgery, costs Rp 400,000 for cats and Rp 700,000 for dogs. Meanwhile, an ultrasound examination costs Rp 200,000.

"Diagnostic laboratory services in the form of hematology examinations are charged at Rp 100,000 per type of examination, while blood biochemistry examinations are charged at Rp 75,000 per type of examination," she explained.
