Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is fast-tracking the removal of waste at Waduk Pluit Flats, aiming to clear the area within 10 days following logistics delays at several transfer stations.

Speaking at City Hall on Thursday (7/16), Pramono explained that transport delays to the Bantargebang landfill had caused a significant backlog.

The current deployment of an excavator and a fleet of trucks will be bolstered within 48 hours. He also insisted on a management shake-up for the Waduk Pluit Flats area.

"We need better governance and rules to ensure these piles don't happen again," he concluded.
