A joint team surveyed the site of a planned drainage project using the jacking method on Jalan Raya Kelapa Dua Wetan in Ciracas, East Jakarta. The inspection involved 15 personnel from the East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, the East Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency, and the project contractor.

The field survey focused on confirming the drainage alignment and identifying underground utilities within the project area as part of preparations ahead of physical construction, which is scheduled to begin next week.

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Development Section Head Tengku Saugi Zikri said the jacking project is intended to address recurring flooding along Jalan Raya PKP.

"The drainage construction using the jacking method is aimed at addressing recurring flooding on Jalan Raya PKP," he asserted on Wednesday (15/7).

Saugi explained that the new drainage channel will span approximately 406 meters, running from the Taufik Hidayat Badminton Sports Hall to Cipinang River.

"The construction contract has been signed, with a 167-working-day implementation period ending on December 15, 2026. Physical construction is scheduled to begin next week," he said.

He noted that the project will use 406 meters of 1,500-millimeter-diameter reinforced concrete pipe (RCP). It also includes the construction of four 4-by-6-meter starting pits and three 4-by-4-meter receiving pits to facilitate the jacking process.

"The project also includes the installation of 40-centimeter, 80-centimeter, and 100-centimeter U-ditch drains, as well as 50-centimeter and 100-centimeter precast box culverts to support the area's drainage system," he pointed.

Saugi said the field survey also identified several existing underground utilities that will require special attention during construction.

"Cross-agency coordination will be needed to ensure the project proceeds safely and on schedule," he added.
