Various cultural arts performances and a bazaar of 86 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) enlivened the Lubang Buaya Festival, Lubang Buaya Urban Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Saturday (7/11) to Sunday (7/12).

The activity, which was held at the Lubang Buaya Football Field, was opened by the Secretary of East Jakarta City, Eka Darmawan.

Improve the economy of residents

According to Eka, this annual routine activity is a form of collaboration between residents to strengthen ties, advance MSMEs and preserve Betawi culture.

"The East Jakarta City Government is committed to continuing to support the preservation of local culture, the development of the creative economy and the empowerment of MSMEs as part of efforts to improve community welfare," Eka said, Sunday (7/12).

He hopes the Lubang Buaya Festival to become one of East Jakarta's attractions.

Head of Lubang Buaya Urban Village, Latiful Syamsi said this festival was held to commemorate the 499th anniversary of Jakarta and the 5th century of the city, while preserving local arts and culture, supporting MSMEs, strengthening community togetherness, and providing a creative space for the younger generation.

There are many events presented in this festival, including the Gabus Pucung cultural performance, bodoran, performances of various Betawi traditional dances, children's coloring competitions, healthy exercise, waste sorting socialization, and Mobile Samsat services.

"This is also an effort to improve the economy of residents, by presenting a bazaar of 86 MSMEs," he stated.
