Make the city of Jakarta safer

Head of Jakarta Public Works Agency, Heru Suwondo said the stretched fiber optic cable was relocated to the underground Integrated Utility Network Facility (SJUT) that had been built along Jalan Cideng Timur and Barat.

"The arrangement of fiber optic cables aims to make the city of Jakarta safer, orderly and secure," he said.

Heru revealed that his party is intensively arranging fiber cables in five areas of Jakarta, in accordance with the mandate of Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2025 about the placement of utility networks.

"We urge telecommunications operators to record and organize fiber optic cables. We hope that in the future, all utility networks in Jakarta will be neatly organized," he hoped.

Head of the City Utilities Infrastructure and Facilities Division of the Jakarta Public Works Agency, Imam Adi Nugraha, explained that the 67 fiber optic cables that were still stretched along Jalan Cideng Barat and Timur were mostly no longer functioning so they were cut.

"18 telecommunications operators have lowered utility networks underground on both roads," he explained.

The Head of the APJATEL Jabodetabek Regional Coordinator, Anton F. Belnis, is targeting the laying of approximately 4.8 kilometers of fiber cables along Jalan Cideng Timur and Barat to be completed within the next two weeks.

"In addition to lowering the cables, 800 fiber optic poles were also removed. We also requested assistance from PLN to repair the sagging power cables," he admitted.
