Seven personnel from the Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency's blue troops repair a blocked channel on Jalan Palmerah Utara RT 03/RW 01 Gelora, Tanah Abang.

Head of Tanah Abang Water Resources Unit, Eli Menawan Sari said repairs to the 70-meter-long channel are carried out by digging out the filling that is covering it and making a new channel using 40 x 40 x 120 centimeter U-ditch concrete.

"The work has been underway since June 24 and is targeted for completion at the end of July," she said, Friday (7/10).

Eli added that this channel repair follows up on residents' proposals submitted through the 2026 Gelora Urban Village Musrenbang.

"This blocked channel blocks the flow of water in the gutter along Jalan Palmerah Utara, causing flooding when it rains," she explained.

Andika (48), a local resident, stated this channel was blocked due to the impact of the construction of shophouses in front of Jalan Palmerah Utara Raya.

"We would like to thank the relevant parties who acted quickly to repair this blocked water channel," he admitted.
