Koja Explore 2026, part of the LMK Volution Chapter 2 program, drew thousands of residents to Rawa Badak Selatan Stadium in Koja Sub-district, North Jakarta. Carrying the theme "Kolaborasi dan Jaga Jakarta", the event was met with enthusiastic public participation.
a platform for strengthening community ties and fostering collaboration
North Jakarta Vice Mayor Fredy Setiawan praised the Community Deliberation Councils (LMK) across Koja Sub-district and all community members for working together to make the annual event a success.
"On behalf of the North Jakarta Administration, we would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this event possible. We hope it will continue to be held in the years to come," he said on Sunday (7/5).
Fredy said Koja has a long history as a community shaped by people from diverse backgrounds while preserving its strong tradition of mutual cooperation.
"The event delivers at least three key benefits: strengthening ties among residents, supporting local economic growth by empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and providing a platform for young people to showcase their creativity," he noted.
Fredy also urged visitors to keep the event area clean by disposing of waste properly, reducing the use of single-use plastics, and supporting waste sorting at the source.
He emphasized that developing North Jakarta requires collaboration from all sectors of society and hoped Koja residents would lead by example in organizing community events that remain safe, orderly, and clean.
"Let's work together to build a more advanced and competitive North Jakarta," he said.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Ali, chair of the organizing committee and head of the Lagoa Urban Village Community Deliberation Council (LMK), said the second edition of LMK Volution expands on the inaugural event. Unlike the first edition, which focused on building a foundation for collaboration, this year's program highlights Koja's diverse local potential.
"We chose the name Koja Explore because the area has tremendous potential, from the creativity of its young people to its thriving MSMEs. Through this theme, we want to show that Koja is a progressive, creative area that is ready to move forward," he explained.
The event featured a mass circumcision program, an MSME product exhibition, interactive discussions, and a music concert featuring several guest performers.
"This event serves as a strategic platform to showcase the region's creative economy and cultural arts while also promoting environmental awareness," he said.
Abdullah also expressed appreciation to LMK members, the North Jakarta Administration, the Koja Sub-district Administration, and event sponsors for supporting the program.
He said he hopes the spirit of Koja Explore will continue beyond the event and inspire more collaboration and innovation among creative economy players in the area.
"This event is more than just entertainment. It is also a platform for strengthening community ties and fostering collaboration. Let's continue exploring new ideas for the progress of the place we proudly call home," he pointed.
