Since his first term as Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung has been determined to prioritize health and education programs.
Pramono said his party is working to ensure that the budget for health and education is not cut, but rather increased so that all Jakarta residents can access health and education services.
These services are available to the public at any time
"For healthcare services, Jakarta currently has 31 hospitals, 44 community health centers (Puskesmas), and 292 sub-community health centers. All of these services are available to the public at any time," said Pramono during the Launching and Discussion of the Book Marhaenism: New Arguments for Gen Z by Rocky Gerung and Airlangga Pribadi Kusman, Saturday (7/4) at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Regarding education, Pram continued, the Jakarta Provincial Government has the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) program, the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU), and a diploma redemption program.
Currently, the Jakarta Provincial Government has distributed 707,477 scholarships to students from elementary, middle, and high school levels. Meanwhile, at universities, scholarships have been distributed to 15,825 undergraduate students. Scholarships are now also being offered to masters and doctoral students.
"Starting next year, the Jakarta Provincial Government will prepare a regional scholarship program similar to LPDP which will send 50 to 75 high-achieving students from underprivileged families to study abroad," he added.
Pramono also explained the People's School in South Jakarta which accommodates homeless children, underprivileged children from broken homes, school dropouts, and so on.
"Currently, approximately 100 children have been accommodated in South Jakarta, and 90 of them have received scholarships from the Jakarta Provincial Government," he explained.
According to him, Marhaenism is about elevating nobodies from the lowest classes, so that they have hope.
"The facilities and spirit there are amazing," he continued.
"I hope this book can inspire us all. Especially since there are many figures and young people who are our hope," he stated.
