Color of Jakarta (COJ) 2026 not only presents a photo exhibition of the nominees' works, but also holds photography workshops and discussions to encourage the birth of visual works that are not only aesthetically appealing, but also strong in conveying stories.
Carrying the theme "Celebrating Jakarta Through a Lens," COJ 2026 is part of the spirit of welcoming Jakarta's five-century anniversary next year. Photographers and content creators are invited to explore the diverse facets of the capital, thereby furthering the recognition of Jakarta's potential as a cultural global city.
nominee or even a winner
Head of Public Communications of the Jakarta Communications, Informatics, and Statistics Agency, M Shendy Adam Firdaus, appreciated all participants and nominees who had produced the best works about Jakarta.
"Welcome to all attendees and nominees. Thank you for attending the opening of this exhibition," he said, Wednesday (7/1).
Adam added that the photos on display show various faces of Jakarta from various angles.
In addition to the photography competition, COJ 2026 also features a content creator category as an effort to expand public participation in highlighting Jakarta's stories through digital platforms.
Adam also invited the public to visit the exhibition and attend the awards ceremony as a form of appreciation for the participants.
According to him, next year's Color of Jakarta will be even more festive as part of Jakarta's five-centennial celebrations. Therefore, he encouraged those who missed this year's competition to participate in the next edition.
"Hopefully, next year those who haven't participated can become participants. Who knows, you might be selected as a nominee or even a winner," he invited.
