A total of 80 personnel from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency managed to extinguish the fire that burned down the detergent factory warehouse belonging to PT Sayap Mas Utama (SMU) on Jalan Inspeksi Cakung Drain Timur, RT 01/06, Cakung Barat Urban Village, Cakung District.

Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Abdul Wahid said the fire incident was reported last night at around 10:34 PM.

"We immediately deployed 16 fire engines with 80 personnel to the location," he said, Tuesday (6/30).

Firefighting began at 10:49 PM and was declared complete at 3:57 AM. There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident.

"The fire covered an area of ​​approximately 700 square meters. The firefighting process took a long time due to the large number of flammable materials," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Cakung District, Rohmad expressed his appreciation to the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency for their swift response in handling the fire, preventing it from spreading to other buildings around the location.

"I urge the public and business actors to continue to increase their awareness of the potential for fires by ensuring that security and safety systems in the work environment are functioning properly," he stated.
