Car Free Day felt extra special this morning as the streets came alive with vibrant parades and captivating performances.

The Jakarta Colorful event, celebrating the spirit of 'Diversity and Togetherness,' marked the climactic closing of Jakarta's month-long 499th-anniversary festivities.

The festivities began at 6 AM at Bundaran HI, offering a mix of Pound Fit, cultural parades, marching bands, and a live performance by Once Mekel. The crowd was clearly loving it.

"I’m so happy to be here and see all of this," expressed Suryanto, a resident who traveled from Rawa Buaya to join the fun.

This 56-year-old, who visited the area with his family for a morning workout, expressed his appreciation for the city's progress.

"I salute Governor Pramono and Vice Governor Rano for their commitment to transforming Jakarta," he admitted.

Agung, a Bekasi local, traveled to Bundaran HI to witness the vibrant cultural parade.

"I wanted to see for myself how festive Jakarta's birthday would be, so I made sure to be here," he explained, clearly impressed by the scale of the event.

After the curtain fell, Agung hailed the celebration as a major success, especially with the delicious local culinary stands. He envisions a future where such joy is frequent.

"Jakarta is revamping itself brilliantly. I want a future Jakarta that is happy, cozy, and safe," he declared firmly.

On a positive note, Vice Governor Rano Karno shared his delight with the peak of the anniversary celebrations that wrapped up today.

He realistically noted that while no event can satisfy every single person, he believes the energy was infectious.

"Even those who had their grievances seem to be soaking in the spirit of the event this morning," he suggested.

"Protests on social media or in person are perfectly normal because we simply can't serve every individual perfectly. However, I am confident that amidst the complaints, they are still enjoying the vibe," he stated.
