Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government is currently arranging underground cables. This cable network arrangement complies with regional regulations regarding Integrated Utility Network Facilities (SJUT).
"This cable is currently being arranged because I have already signed the Regional Regulation about Integrated Utility Network Facilities," said Pramono, Friday (6/26).

Through this regulation, the Jakarta Provincial Government is gradually installing underground cable networks to improve their organization and enhance the city's aesthetics. Pramono acknowledged that the cable layout challenges so far have been due to the lack of regulations providing a legal framework.
"And in the past, these cables could not be put in because there was no legal basis for it," he added.
He admitted that the tangled cable problem is one of the challenges in managing Jakarta. He noted that many cables are actually no longer used but are simply left unused due to the owners' ignorance.
"The main problem is that there are many cables that are actually no longer being used, but the owners don't know because they have been there for so long," he admitted.
The Jakarta Provincial Government is working on the underground cable network in collaboration with private companies. He believes that with a legal framework, managing Jakarta's tangled cables will be easier and make the city more organized.
"Several companies and private entities are now collaborating with the Jakarta government to manage these cables," he stated.
