PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) implemented a special fare of Rp1 for public transportation services on Monday (6/22) in order to celebrate the 499th anniversary of the city of Jakarta.
Head of Public Relations and CSR Department of PT Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani said, this special fare policy applies to all Transjakarta services, starting from Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Non-BRT, Mikrotrans, to Transjabodetabek.
introduce the experience of using public transportation
Transjakarta believes this momentum is an important opportunity to strengthen the culture of using public transportation amidst increased public mobility during school holidays.
"This Rp1 fare program not only provides easy access to affordable transportation for the public, but is also a strategic step to introduce the experience of using public transportation to more residents," she said.
Transjakarta is strengthening its operations by adjusting its fleet to corridors and routes with high demand as a form of readiness to support this policy.
Currently, Transjakarta operates 14 main corridors with a total of 244 routes and is supported by 5,151 fleet units, both conventional and electric, ready to serve customers.
Optimization of service personnel at points with potential customer density is also being carried out continuously, while ensuring that service safety and comfort standards are maintained.
"Currently, Transjakarta serves an average of 1.4 million customers daily. Service operating hours remain normal with no additional operating hours," she added.
She continued that, in addition to today, the Rp1 tariff policy will also be re-implemented on June 27-28, 2026, which coincides with the peak series of Jakarta's anniversary celebrations.
"Transjakarta urges the public to take advantage of this special fare momentum as an opportunity to switch to safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly public transportation, while also planning their trips through Transjakarta's official information channels," she appealed.
