Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) kicked off the Jakarta Youth Creativity Showcase (AKPJ) 2026 at the Proclamation Monument on Saturday (6/20).
The event will be rolled out across administrative levels—from cities to regencies—and is expected to conclude in August.
This event is ultimately about establishing vital connections across all sectors
Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Andri Yansyah noted that the Jakarta Youth Creativity Showcase is an annual event dedicated to unlocking the positive potential of youth in Jakarta, so they can lead change and development in their own neighborhoods.
"Aside from cultivating their innovative and creative talents, this event is ultimately about establishing vital connections across all sectors," he added.
He noted that the event features eight competitive categories, including vocals, fashion, graphic design, monologue, band, Betawi creative dance, modern dance, and cosplay.
"These competitions consist of both individual and group categories," he explained.
The city-level competitions kicked off today in Central Jakarta and are set to be held across other administrative cities and the regency on a rotating basis through late July.
"Winners from these local levels will then compete in the provincial finals from August 7-9," he noted.
Governor's Special Staff Dicky Soemarno gave his appreciation to Jakarta Dispora for holding the event, hoping it would stimulate young Jakartans to become independent and creative.
"Today’s challenges call for the youth to think, work, and exercise creativity so they can achieve a better future," he stressed.
