The Jakarta Provincial Government together with the Exemplary Alumni Family Association (IKAT) and the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Jakarta will hold the Teladan Metropolitan City Rally (TMCR) 2026 on June 28, 2026.

Carrying the grand theme of 'Navigate the City, Ignite the Legacy - Road to 500: The Legend Continues', this event unites three important pillars, namely the momentum of the celebration of the 499th anniversary of Jakarta towards its 5th century next year, affirmation of the city's motorsport history, and proof of the organizer's consistency.

This activity combines elements of motorsports, sports, city tourism, history, culture, and community togetherness in one package that entertains and educates the public.

The flag off by the Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, signified that the Start and Finish location at City Hall is not only an icon of government, but also one of the most historic landmarks in the capital.

The Chief Executive of TMCR 2026, Doni Umardanus, stated that this event, which focuses on the development of autosport and sports tourism, is not a speed race.

Instead, TMCR is a competition that prioritizes timing, precision, strategy, team cohesion, and navigation skills.

"All participants will be invited to explore Jakarta through a predetermined route, while completing various tasks and challenges at a number of checkpoints," he said, Friday (6/19).

Interestingly, checkpoints are deliberately placed at various historical sites, iconic locations, popular destinations, and even legendary corners that hold stories of Jakarta's long history.

"Participants can experience exploring and getting to know the modern face and cultural heritage of Jakarta from a different perspective," he added.

Regarding the technical aspects of implementation, the Chairman of IMI Jakarta, Anondo Eko, explained the regulations for holding rallies in the Jakarta area.

He explained that every city rally event must prioritize the aspect of road safety by complying with applicable traffic regulations.

"This City Rally really prioritizes punctuality and is designed at low speed, unlike the Speed ​​Rally, the regulations applied are designed in such a way that the competition runs fairly but remains safe and orderly, both for the participants and for other road users in the capital," he explained.

Organizing Committee Chair Doni Umardanus stated that TMCR 2026 will feature three main activity categories to create a more inclusive space. These include the Car Fun Rally for four-wheeled vehicles, the Motorcycle Fun Rally, which offers a safe route for two-wheeled vehicles, and the Fun Bike, which will serve as a new attraction for the cycling community with an active and healthy lifestyle.

This event is open to all levels of society and does not require previous rally experience.

"Starting from classic car communities, modern cars, electric vehicles, motorcycle communities, cyclists, automotive lovers, families, young professionals, government agencies, to private parties are invited to participate in enlivening the event," he stated.

Rally Committee (RC) Chairman, Tony Yanuar, explained that the Time Rally or City Rally concept at the TMCR 2026 event will place much greater emphasis on punctuality and the element of fun.

He explained that this event will harmoniously combine three main elements in its implementation, namely the automotive sports element (Auto Sport), an in-depth exploration of Jakarta's cultural richness, and the commercial sector through a special agenda of visiting the locations of sponsors and local MSMEs.

"The committee has also prepared special route reporting posts to monitor the movement and record the participants' attendance times accurately at each point," he added.
