PT MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat expressed appreciation for the support and attention provided by the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) toward accelerating the construction of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A, which is part of a National Strategic Project.

Operations targeted to begin by the end of 2027

According to him, support from various stakeholders plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth progress of the project and helping meet its operational target as scheduled.

"MRT Jakarta will continue striving to provide safe, comfortable, and sustainable public transportation services for the community," he said on Thursday (6/18).

Tuhiyat noted that Contract Package 201 had reached 92.99 percent completion as of May 25, 2026, with operations targeted to begin by the end of 2027.

"Monas Station is one of the stations being developed together with Thamrin Station under Contract Package 201," he added.

Earlier, Presidential Chief of Staff Gen. (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman visited the Blok M area and the Monas Station construction site on Wednesday (6/17), accompanied by MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat.

The work visit was part of the Presidential Staff Office's responsibility to monitor and evaluate National Strategic Projects, as well as to support the acceleration of integrated modern urban railway development in Indonesia.

The visit began in the Blok M Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) area, which has reemerged as a major urban activity hub. Dudung reviewed several infrastructure improvements supporting the TOD development, including Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park and Blok M Hub.

He and his delegation then visited the Monas Station construction site, located 18 meters below ground level.

"I also saw the underground tunnel firsthand. In my view, its quality is excellent and it will provide significant benefits to the public in the future," he said.

Dudung praised the overall progress of Phase 2A construction, which had reached approximately 60 percent as of May 25, 2026.

"Today, I reviewed one of Indonesia's National Strategic Projects, namely MRT Jakarta Phase 2A, particularly Monas Station, which extends the line from Bundaran HI to Kota. Several components of the project have already been completed. According to the President Director, overall progress has reached 60 percent," he noted.
