Around 200 civil servants (ASN) and individual contracted service personnel (PJLP) from the Central Jakarta Administration took part in a blood donation drive on Thursday (6/18), organized by the Central Jakarta Personnel Agency Sub-agency and the Central Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).
Blood donation drive was held as part of Jakarta's 499th anniversary celebrations
Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin said the blood donation drive was held as part of Jakarta's 499th anniversary celebrations.
"More than 200 civil servants and PJLP personnel registered to participate in this blood donation drive," Arifin said after donating blood himself.
Arifin noted that regular blood donation offers numerous health benefits for donors.
"Donating blood helps maintain healthy blood circulation and heart function. In general, people who donate blood regularly are also less likely to suffer from strokes," he explained.
Therefore, he encouraged all employees within the Central Jakarta Administration to donate blood on a regular basis.
"A single drop of donated blood can help save the lives of those in need," he added.
Arifin said that although 200 employees registered for the blood donation drive, only 162 were deemed eligible to donate after undergoing health screenings.
"A total of 44 employees were unable to donate due to high blood pressure," he noted.
