Taman Sari Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) and the local urban village administration are set to organize a fun walk on Saturday (6/20) to celebrate Jakarta's 499th anniversary, with a target of 1,000 participants.

Taman Sari Urban Village Head Abdul Malik Raharusun said the event carries the theme "Stepping Colorfully Toward Five Centuries of Jakarta" and is open to all residents of Taman Sari Sub-district.
"Registration opened on Tuesday (6/16) and will remain open until Friday (6/19)," he informed on Wednesday (6/17).
Malik added that, beyond celebrating Jakarta's 499th anniversary, the event is intended to strengthen community bonds and promote unity among residents.
In addition to the fun walk, participants will be treated to various entertainment performances and attractive door prizes.
"The event is scheduled to begin at 6 AM," he added.
Organizing Committee Chair Raka Kamaludin explained that the fun walk will cover a three-kilometer route.
Participants will start from the urban village office, proceed along Jalan Mangga Besar IV Raya, Jalan Taman Sari X, Jalan Mangga Besar VIII, and Jalan Mangga Besar Raya, before finishing back at the urban village office.
Organizers will provide drinking water at two checkpoints along the route. Participants will also be invited to take a group photo in Glodok Chinatown.
