A total of 2,658 families in Cipinang Urban Village, Pulo Gadung Sub-district, East Jakarta, have received food assistance from Ministry of Social Affairs.

We are only responsible for distributing the aid

Cipinang Urban Village Head Heidy Amelia Rangkuti explained that the food assistance program is being carried out over three days, from Saturday (6/13) through Monday (6/15).

Heidy explained that the assistance is intended for residents listed in government welfare programs, including the Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), and families with toddlers or children at risk of stunting.

"We are only responsible for distributing the aid and providing the distribution venue. This is a central government program, and the recipient data also comes from the Ministry of Social Affairs," she noted on Sunday (6/14).

Due to the large number of beneficiaries and the limited capacity of the urban village office yard, the aid distribution is being conducted in stages over three days.

"This is to prevent long queues and ensure the safety and comfort of beneficiaries," she asserted.

According to Heidy, each beneficiary receives two 10-kilogram bags of rice and four liters of cooking oil. The recipients come from 183 RTs across 18 RWs.

"To help speed up distribution, we have deployed 23 PPSU personnel. They are assisting with aid distribution to residents, while others are assigned to registration duties," she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Farida (48), expressed gratitude for the assistance, saying it helps ease household expenses amid rising prices of basic necessities.

"We would like to thank the government for this assistance. The rice and cooking oil are very helpful in meeting our family's daily needs," she said.
