Central Jakarta’s Senen Sentral Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) resumed operations on Thursday (6/4), at 6 PM. The reopening follows the finalization of all restoration works carried out by the Ministry of Public Works.
Before resuming operations, the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and PT Transjakarta, performed a direct inspection of the JPO. The visit aimed to guarantee that the facilities met all safety, comfort, and readiness standards for public use.
Allow residents to enjoy a safer and more convenient crossing experience
According to Siti Dinarwenny, Head of Jakarta Data and Information Center, the total completion of restoration efforts and the reopening of the Senen Sentral JPO allow residents to enjoy a safer and more convenient crossing experience.
"At the same time, it strengthens pedestrian integration with public transit networks throughout the Pasar Senen district and its vicinity," she expressed, Friday (6/5).
The Senen Sentral JPO had previously become a point of public concern after being unable to function optimally due to damages incurred during the 2025 protests. The damage extended to the core structure, requiring a total restoration effort led by the Ministry of Public Works.
In relation to the handover of the restoration results following the 2025 incident, the transfer of the rehabilitated JPO from the Ministry of Public Works to the Jakarta government is presently in progress. Both parties anticipate that the handover process will be concluded shortly.
