Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin attended the World Bicycle Day commemoration organized by the Bike To Work (B2W) Indonesia community at the FX Sudirman concourse on Wednesday (6/3).
In his remarks, Arifin commended the enthusiasm of residents who consistently use bicycles in the capital.

"I am grateful and pleased to see that many residents still enjoy cycling as a way to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in Jakarta," he expressed, Wednesday (6/3).
He hopes that World Bicycle Day will serve as a catalyst to increase public participation in cycling, ensuring that the dream of blue skies and a clean environment in Jakarta can soon be achieved.
At the same time, B2W Indonesia Chairman, Hendro Subroto noted that Jakarta stands out as the only city in the country with premier cycling infrastructure.
"We have brought together 50 to 70 cycling enthusiasts and key stakeholders to build connections, provide mutual support, and enhance public consciousness about cycling’s role in sustainable transport.
"This initiative represents a strategic platform for collaboration between cycling communities, environmentalists, the government, and the private sector to realize Jakarta’s vision as a global city," he stated.
