Jakarta’s Transportation Agency (Dishub) apologizes for the delayed reopening of the southbound Lenteng Agung Road Main toward Depok, which was originally slated for 5 AM.
Following an assessment of the underground drainage works, the reopening will be phased: the lane flanking the railway is scheduled to open at 8 AM, with the other lanes following at 11 AM.
We apologize for the delay and urge commuters to plan their journeys
Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Budi Awaludin explained that the extension was required to guarantee that all repairs meet safety and quality standards prior to resuming public access.
“We are fully aware of the impact this has on the daily movements of those in the Lenteng Agung vicinity. Consequently, we apologize for the delay and urge commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of the pre-arranged alternative paths,” he noted, Tuesday (6/2).
The Jakarta Water Resources Agency reported that the completion delay stemmed from the mandatory closure and area-clearing procedures starting at 2 PM. Full-scale operations only began at 4 PM, following a safety inspection and site clearance.
“The safety of personnel and commuters remains our top priority. Hence, all work phases must follow proper procedures to guarantee a safe outcome for the community when the road reopens,” he explained.
His agency keeps coordinating closely with the Water Resources Agency to expedite the completion of the project. Personnel remain deployed in the vicinity to manage traffic flow and assist commuters in navigating the designated alternative routes.
"We call on people to comply with the guidance of field personnel and stay informed through official government platforms. Further updates concerning the reopening of the road will be issued regularly to the public," he stated.
