Serving as a co-host, the Jakarta government is set to take part in the Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2026 at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nusa Dua, scheduled for May 28–30, 2026.
This involvement underscores Jakarta’s commitment to amplifying its tourism and creative sectors on the global stage, while driving the advancement of premium and sustainable travel experiences.
Hope this involvement will catalyze wider collaboration
Under the banner ‘Redefining Indonesia’s Gastronomy Journey: A Celebration of Taste, Culture, and Sustainable Heritage,’ the event leverages gastronomy as a pivotal medium to introduce the archipelago’s cultural opulence to an international audience.
In this year's installment, the Jakarta government features a 140-square-meter Jakarta Pavilion, serving as a dedicated platform to promote the city’s premier tourism and creative economy potential.
The pavilion hosts 15 exhibitors representing a diverse array of sectors, ranging from hospitality and tourist destinations to travel agencies and wellness tourism.
Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf) Head, Andhika Permata said, as a premier international travel fair in Indonesia, BBTF has spent more than a decade as a strategic pillar, connecting domestic and global tourism players via B2B forums, fostering collaboration, and amplifying Indonesia’s tourism presence on the world stage.
The Jakarta Pavilion showcases an array of industry leaders and top-tier destinations, reflecting the city’s robust and diversifying tourism ecosystem—from urban and cultural experiences to gastronomy, MICE, and wellness tourism.
"Hope this involvement will catalyze wider collaboration, bolster visitor numbers, and deliver significant positive contributions to Jakarta’s economic development," he remarked, Tuesday (6/2).
Andhika noted that such an approach transcends viewing culinary offerings as a mere travel component; it utilizes them as a vehicle for solidifying cultural identity, fostering community empowerment, and sustaining the tourism ecosystem.
"It is our hope that our involvement in BBTF 2026 will bolster partnerships with global industry players, amplify Jakarta’s destination profile, and spur the creation of truly authentic travel experiences," he emphasized.
Earlier, Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno noted that serving as a Co-Host for BBTF 2026 represents a strategic initiative to amplify Jakarta’s visibility as the nation’s premier gateway and introduce its multifaceted tourism assets to a global audience.
"Our participation as a Co-Host in BBTF 2026 marks a significant milestone in reinforcing Jakarta’s position as a competitive global metropolis, particularly across the tourism and creative industries," stated Rano.
