Some 13 illegal parking attendants in the Blok M Square area, Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, have been apprehended. They will undergo further rehabilitation and guidance at a social shelter.
South Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Bernad Octavianus Pasaribu, stated that the crackdown was a follow-up to public complaints regarding the situation in the area.

"Despite previous enforcement actions, they continue to return surreptitiously," he expressed, Friday (5/22).
Bernad explained that the apprehension of these 13 individuals was the result of a collaborative effort between Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP, army or TNI, Police, Parking Management Unit, and Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency’s Operations and Control Division. He described, the situation as a "classic urban phenomenon.
He added that the apprehended attendants were not immediately released; instead, they were handed over to related units for further processing.
"We aim to tighten parking supervision in the Blok M area to ensure it remains clear of illegal attendants. We also urge the public to refrain from giving them money or tips," he explained.
Meanwhile, South Jakarta Protection, Guarantee, and Social Rehabilitation Section Head, Yan Vetansyah noted that all the individuals were taken to the Kedoya Social Shelter in West Jakarta for further guidance.
"They were all transported using Social Sub-agency, Supervision, and Control (P3S) vehicles to receive rehabilitation. They will be provided with vocational skills training and other forms of guidance to prevent them from returning to work as illegal parking attendants," he concluded.
