Kalideres Bus Terminal Management, together with local urban village officials, held a waste sorting socialization for 50 traders and MSMEs in the terminal area on Thursday (5/21).

maintain the cleanliness of the terminal

Head of Kalideres Bus Terminal, Nur Prasetyo said socialization was carried out so that traders and MSMEs would be more disciplined in sorting waste, as well as an effort to support Jakarta Governor Instruction Number 5 of 2026 about waste management and reduction from its source.

"The aim is to make it easier for cleaning staff to maintain the cleanliness of the terminal," he said.

He added that traders play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of the terminal environment. Their daily business activities contribute to significant amounts of waste, including plastic food containers, beverage bottles, cans, and even food scraps.

"Socialization must be carried out continuously and massively so that they get used to sorting waste and it becomes a culture," he added.

Head of Kalideres Urban Village, Rizky Dwi Putra hoped waste sorting carried out by all components of society will be able to reduce the volume of waste dumped at the Bantargebang landfil.

Rizky emphasized that not only reducing the volume of waste, waste sorting and management will also bring economic value.

"I hope traders will start sorting their waste from now on. That way, the amount of residual waste dumped in Bantargebang will be reduced," he stated.
