The North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-agency held a fire prevention socialization program for residents of RW 021, Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan, Wednesday (5/20).
The activity was accompanied by the handover of 50 Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR) cylinders from PT Nusantara Power's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

Head of the Sub-agency, Budi Haryono said fire handling cannot only be carried out by firefighters, but requires collaboration from all parties, from the government, private sector to the community.
"There needs to be collaboration between firefighters, urban village, the private sector and the community," he said.
In the training, added Budi, residents were given an understanding of the correct techniques for using APAR so they could carry out initial handling quickly and appropriately.
"Hopefully, after this training, residents will be able to carry out early extinguishing by using APAR if a fire occurs in their environment," he added.
Head of Pluit Urban Village, Achmad Faizal, appreciated the ranks of the Sub-agency who have provided fire handling training to residents, starting from handling gas stove fires using wet towels to using APAR.
"Hopefully with this activity our environment will be safer from the threat of fire," he hoped.
Meanwhile, the Maintenance Manager of PLN Nusantara Power Muara Karang Generation Unit, Agus Priyono, explained that the assistance of 50 APAR cylinders was given as a form of the company's social and environmental responsibility to residents around the company's operational area, including RW 021, Pluit Urban Village.
"This is part of the company's social and environmental responsibility. We hope this collaboration will continue," he stated.
