Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is set to inaugurate hundreds of officials within the Jakarta government this Wednesday (20/5) noon.
Pramono stated that the inauguration is being conducted to ensure the government organization operates optimally and to prevent any leadership vacancies.
Positions for Echelon III and IV
He noted that the appointments are not limited to Echelon II officials but also include positions for Echelon III and IV. Approximately 891 officials are scheduled to be sworn in later this afternoon.
"As usual, it will be held on Wednesday afternoon. It’s not just Echelon II, but mostly Echelon III and IV. The total is 891," he expressed, at Jakarta City Hall.
He also reiterated the importance of filling vacant positions within the Jakarta government. This ensures that the administration can run optimally without being led by "Acting" (PLT) officials.
"I want to ensure that no position remains idle or vacant. A well-functioning organization is reflected in how it operates; there should no longer be any Acting officials," he remarked.
Consequently, he is committed to filling all vacant seats within the Jakarta government so that definitive and swift decision-making can be maintained.
"Throughout my leadership, there will almost certainly be no more Acting officials. As soon as a vacancy arises, it is immediately filled," he emphasized.
Further, he explained the reasoning behind holding the inauguration today, which coincides with the provincial policy requiring civil servants (ASN) to use public transportation. Pramono wants the newly inaugurated officials to arrive wearing traditional Betawi attire as a symbol of Jakarta's identity while utilizing public transport.
"I intentionally schedule inaugurations on Wednesdays so that the ASNs being sworn in take public transportation while wearing Betawi attire, such as ujung serong, encim, and others," he concluded.
