Personnel of City Park and Forestry Unit pruned dangled tree on Jalan Taman Wijaya Kusuma, RT 09/02, Cilandak Barat, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

Field Coordinator, Yanto Bento said the pruning was carried out at the request of residents who wrote directly to the staff.

"We checked and found the tree was healthy, but it needed trimming. The trunk and leaves were disturbing nearby homes," he said, Tuesday (5/19).

Yanto explained that in pruning the 16-meter-high and 30-centimeter-diameter mahogany tree, his team deployed eight personnel equipped with a ladder truck.

The stem and leaf waste will be processed into compost around the Kampung Kandang cemetery area, Jagakarsa.

Meanwhile, one of local residents, Zainal (43), appreciated the pruning. According to him, these overgrown trees make the location dark because the lighting is obstructed.

"The officer's response was very fast and carried out the pruning immediately," he admitted.
