West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency is about to hold cat sterilization at Palmerah District Office, Tuesday (5/19). This activity, which targets 200 male cats, is free of charge.

Sub-agency's Head of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Section, Tanti said this activity is the result of collaboration with Polsatwa Korsabhara Baharkam Polri and is only intended for male cats.

This activity is part of population management to control the number of domestic animals.

"The requirement is that the owner must have a West Jakarta domicile ID card and must bring the original ID card and a photocopy during the activity," she said, Friday (5/15).

She explained that residents are welcome to register through the Instagram account sudin_kpkpjb. In addition to the requirement that owners must have a West Jakarta ID card, there are several other requirements, such as the cat being at least eight months old and in good health.

Before sterilization, cats must be fasted for at least 8 hours before being taken to the sterilization location.

The sterilization process is scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM and continue until completion. Registered owners will receive technical information regarding the sterilization time, based on their queue.

"After sterilization, marking with eartips will be carried out. In addition to sterilization, the activity will also include animal health counseling and rabies vaccination," she stated.
